Evidence-Based Psychological Care with Compassion, Understanding and Genuine Connection

Creating a Safe Space for Meaningful Change

Dr Alex Short is a Clinical Psychologist with over 15 years of experience supporting adolescents and adults experiencing a broad range of psychological concerns.

Alex is passionate about finding the right balance between providing evidence-based psychological therapies and creating a warm, safe and relaxed environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood and supported.

He understands that seeking psychological support can feel like a significant step. Alex works collaboratively with clients to develop a shared understanding of their experiences, identify meaningful goals and tailor therapy to their individual needs, preferences and circumstances.

Alex has particular clinical interests in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma and anxiety disorders, including obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). He also supports individuals experiencing depression, life transitions, neurodivergent presentations and a wide range of other mental health concerns.

A Warm and Genuine Approach to Therapy

Alex believes that feeling comfortable and understood is an important part of the therapeutic process. He takes the time to build a strong therapeutic relationship, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients can openly explore their experiences without judgement.

By developing a genuine connection with each client, Alex helps individuals feel supported while working towards their personal goals.

Evidence-Based Support for Life’s Challenges

Alex draws from a range of evidence-based psychological approaches to help clients better understand their difficulties and develop practical strategies for managing challenges.

With experience supporting anxiety, trauma, PTSD, OCD, mood difficulties and life transitions, Alex provides personalised therapy that considers each person's unique experiences, strengths and circumstances.
